GnollHack Beta 13 out on Android, iOS, and Windows

We have just released GnollHack beta 13 for Android, iOS, and Windows.

Beta 13 adds the following features:

• Support to load saved games saved during panic on mobile.
• Scrolling on certain screens works now better on mobile.
• Friendly monsters are now typically called "allied", while friendly animals are still called "tame."
• Various new graphics.
• Several bug fixes.

Android version can be obtained from Google Play Store using the link https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.soundmindentertainment.gnollhack or by searching for GnollHack.

iOS version can be accessed through TestFlight (Apple App Store testing service) using the link https://testflight.apple.com/join/FI7LuppZ.

I accidentally updated to this version when my android phone was updating other apps. Now my saved games are gone. It was totally my own fault but I just wanted to ask is there any way to get them back? I had lvl 49 tourist ready to start ascension run and now its all lost.

Anyway, game seems to work perfectly on android 12 and this is in my opinion the best variant for Nethack.

There's no way to downgrade to a previous version of the game, as far as I am aware. I assume you are playing on Android. Google Play Store does not keep old versions of the game. Also, the game probably automatically deletes incompatible saved games, so they may not no longer be there.

This is actually one of the major issues, which we haven't been able to solve. The save system of NetHack/GnollHack breaks every time you add new content to the game. And one can accidentally update to the latest version and lose all progress. We are not sure how to fix this thing.

I was able to find link to the previous version:

But the game can still have deleted incompatible save games.

I was able to find an old version of the game in Google Play Console. You can download it here:

But still, the old save games may be deleted. But it is at least something we can fix. @Janne Gustafsson

Older version didnt find the save either so I think it got deleted. I started new game just before I downgraded to older version and that got lost too, so it seems like the game is deleting old saves with every update. Playing on Samsung a33 with android12.

I updated back to latest version and have new tourist doing really well
